I Love Snow Days!

I posted a little snippet on Monday about how school let out at 12:45 that day. We were supposed to get some pretty bad winter weather and… we did!
It began to snow, freeze rain, and all of that wintry mix stuff. Needless to say, on Tuesday schools were closed. Colin still had to work because the college he works at like never closes. On Tuesday (last) night, a state of emergency was declared in my county. Schools were closed today too. Colin left to go to work, and I checked the college website one last time after he left, and turns out, the college DID close today! He got to come home! It was neat that both of us got a snow day together. And guess what – tomorrow there is no school either!
I am so thrilled!
We haven’t had decent snow days in a long time! While we don’t have a lot of snow, we do have a lot of ice. Ice is all over everything. A lot of people were without power which is part of the reason a state of emergency was declared. The sun actually came out for awhile today, so some of the ice has started to melt. If it gets warm enough tomorrow more should melt, and we should go to school on Friday, but who knows! I was expecting I might have to go tomorrow. It’s neat to work at a school and still get snow days.
This does mean that I will need to get an extension on the testing I’ve been doing in the lab though.

Congrats on your snow days! Your husband’s college sounds like mine…we almost NEVER close…even if the county schools do. lol.

Hehe, I wish I had snow days off of MY work! That sounds like it was a lovely break, lucky you!
You know, this just means you get extra time to work on that new theme of yours… *wink wink* WOOT!
-
oooh! snow days are so much fun. we havent had one in Victoria since 1996? We never get snow here. *pouts*
And I’ll second what Melissa said, let’s get that new theme up and running!

I miss that about working at a school! Where I work now is really flexible and they would understand if I said I didn’t want to drive in anything, but it just isn’t the same as seeing a closing on tv
I hope you enjoyed your days off! Bee careful, heheI hope to see your theme soon! I know you’re working on it, but I’ve been checking everyday lol

You’re lucky. We don’t get snow days here at all. So our schools never close at all.

Lucky
It’s been ages since we’ve had a snow day! -
So sweet you got a snow day together! We got snow here to in the desert. The lowest mountain was 1/2 covered. The air was so clean you could see Big Bear Mtns clearly (yep I live 60 or so miles away). Haven’t been able to see them that clear in a few years.

That’s so sexy. I’m sure you guys spend some great quality time together. So romantic too. love:

Oh lucky you! And colleges just don’t close. We had half of classes cancelled once, and I think that’ll be my only time in my 4 year career that the school closes at all.
Enjoy the fun winter weather =)

Wow, snow! We usually have more ice than snow as well, but this year, early January was very snowy and I loved it. So I do get the excitement. Snow is wonderful and it’s sad some people don’t get enough of it.
Also, I don’t know if you’re aware, but there’s no text next to the checkbox under the “Submit Comment” button. I assume it’s the subscribe to comments checkbox, but still…it confused me a wee bit.

Wow… I can’t imagine not being able to go to school because of the snow. I guess that’s because it doesn’t snow here, but we didn’t even get days off when it was obscenely hot! Lol.

I had to cancel my rock climbing classes tomorrow, so I get to not coach!
Yay for snow! -
Haha, I sort of wish we had snow here, so I could get days off from work and school.
Congratulations on your snow days

I haven’t had a snaow day in oh-so-long. Haven’t seen snow in years, just doesn’t happen in my area. Thought we still get a load of days off none the less. Just had a week off =] Yay!
The blog is madd cute, I love the colors. Simple, yet appealing to the eyes (not so boring). Good work.
