No Poem
My teacher told me to write a poem.
I hate poems, I wanna go home!
She told me it had to be twelve lines.
To write a poem, I have no time!
My teacher told me to use my “imagination.”
I wish I was gone away on vacation.
If I was, I wouldn’t have to write.
I could go home and ride my bike.
My teacher said “make it rhyme.”
Rhyming makes my brain feel like slime.
Should I use a simile or a metaphor?
I’m afraid I’ll sound like such a bore.
My teacher told me “you better try hard.”
She’s so very lovely, just like a star!
And very intelligent, what more can I say?!
So pretty please teacher, do I get an A?
About “No Poem”
In my third semester of college (I believe it was), I had to do this writing project type thing. We had a choice. We could either do…..something, I don’t remember or turn in five original poems. I opted for the five poems since I already had written a lot of poems. I wrote this one and made it poem #5. My teacher was really funny and sweet, and guess what- I did get an A on my assignment. *giggles!!* This poem is so corny.
