Happy Quilting Bee Blog Day!

Every December 15th a bunch of “bees” buzz about their second home on the internet – The Quilting Bee. In case you aren’t familiar with The Quilting Bee it’s a great little online club. At first glance, it may seem like an elite pixel clique of sorts. It’s not that at all. Yes, you do get to pixel little patches, but it is so much more than that. There are contests, activities, and the awesome BBS. We also have our own chat room. It’s a wonderful place to make friends. Friends that will help you in any way they can whether it be helping you fix some code on your website or listening to you spill your guts about something going on in your life. A lot of people seem to be afraid to apply because they think they are not good enough at pixelling. EVERYONE can pixel something! We don’t judge your pixelling skills at all! I wouldn’t say I have mad pixelling skills, but I definitely have improved since joining in August of 2006. If you’re looking for something fun to do and want to make new friends, you should definitely join The Quilting Bee!

It’s that time of year again where all of us Quilting Bee members blog about how wonderful The Quilting Bee is and how all of you non-members should join and experience the wonderfulness for yourselves. You may have read my entry from 2007 or 2006, but in case you didn’t or don’t want to take the time to read it now, let me just tell you a little bit about The Quilting Bee.

The Quilting Bee is an interactive club & friendship clique all in one. Members design their very own patch to trade with other members. As they collect these patches they “sew” these onto their quilt. Soon the quilts become big, beautiful and colourful and members get to meet new friends in the process! It’s lots of fun and we hope that you consider joining our club!

The Quilting Bee is first and foremost a pixel trading club. It is so much more than that though. Yes, trading cute little pixelled patches is great fun, but getting to know the members is even more fun. Everyone is very friendly and unique. They share stories whether funny, serious, or personal. They give help, encouragement, and inspiration both with life and things like website development. There are no petty fights between members or e-drama like you may find with other online communities. Everyone is very pleasant.

There are, of course, tons of fun things that come along with being a member. There are contests and activities, an awesome message board, and awards you can win.

You do not have to be an expert pixeller. I certainly am not. It’s really not that hard, so do not be intimidated that you will not be accepted based on pixelling skills. The rules to join are quite simple. It’s such a shame that many people who apply do not read or follow the requirements very closely. No one has ever been rejected because we don’t think their pixelling is good enough. And I will guarentee you that becoming a member will make you into a better pixeller than you ever thought possible. Have a look at my patches below. I think I’ve gotten somewhat better over the years.

There so much I could possibly tell you about . Wouldn’t it be better for you to experience it for yourself though? I don’t want to reveal allof the fun. As a Princess Bee, I royally invite you to join our wonderful community, and we look forward to getting to know you.
