Me - Ashley

Welcome to Rainbow Stuff, cyberhome of... well... me! I'm Ashley - a 25 year old elementary school computer lab teacher from Kentucky. I met my husband online and I love him, strawberry smoothies and my one-eyed cat, Pouncy. This is my blog, personal website, and general collection of my bits of randomness. Rainbows rule. More?

Early Morning Barf

Date Monday, August 27, 2007 at Clock 5:13 pm ()

I wasn’t particularly excited about going to work this morning. Colin didn’t have to work today (because he worked Saturday), so I was jealous. Not only that, I was just plain tired.

Well, of course I went to work, and first thing this morning I had a class of 5th graders to work on their PLATO test. All was well until I started hearing gurgling sounds. Yes, a kid was barfing in my computer lab.

White, cottage cheese-like substances are not what I want to see or smell first thing on a Monday morning.

Thank goodness next Monday is a day off.

Well it is better you see that from a kids mouth then somewhere else that it can produce… And that is all I am going to say.

Ew, gross! I hate cottage cheese to begin with, but now it’s even more repulsive, lol. You didn’t have to clean it up…did you? :( I hope not!

@Kristie: No, I didn’t have to clean it up. “The janitor is the only one qualified to handle body fluid cleanups” thank goodness.

@ Meredith: I feel like I’m getting sick. :( My stomach has felt weird for days. My head, ears, and throat have been hurting too. However, I don’t think I’ll actually barf. I haven’t done that since 5th grade. :D

Awww, thanks for the comment you left on mushytime. We get a lot of comments from couples who have met online, lasted through long distance and often gotten married! It’s so good to know that others have lasted in the same circumstances and motivates me to keep giving it my all :)

Where did you guys decide to live?

I’ve heard such barfing horror stories from my best friend who is a first grade teacher. All in a days work, I suppose.

I always get jealous when my boyfriend doesnt have to work and I do!

If I would have seen the barf it would of made me barf!

Oh puke on an empty stomach != good. I know this because a few weeks ago my boyfriend’s 9 year old son had a nightmare and woke us up in the middle of the night by walking into the room and promptly barfing on the floor right in front of me. I’ll never get that image off my retinas again. Good lucking clearing yours :)
