Clay Critters and Choose Your Own Adventure

Yesterday there was a storm, and our power went out. So… Colin and I went down to Paducah to go to the Jungle Golf. (I won, but just barely!) After we mini-golfed, we went to Hobby Lobby and Books-A-Million where I got some books on Fimo/Sculpey patterns/ideas. I’ve had a bunch of Fimo/Sculpey for months now, but I’ve never really sat down and played with it much. Now, I have neat books to help me out with basic shapes and stuff. I made two critters today- a turtle and a fish.

After I baked the little guys, the fish turned a deep, dark purple color. I guess that fuschia color changes during the baking process. Anyway, they’re pretty cute and I think they turned out well for my first time.
Remember those Choose Your Own Adventure Books? Silly stories. Tragic and horrifying deaths. Well, Colin wrote one when he was seven years old. He still has it.
He just turned it into a website. Now everyone can choose their own adventure “At Camp.” Check it out if you feel like risking your life to go on a camping trip. (Click the pic.)

Those little critters look cool
haha, if only I could mold something and then bake it. But the only thing in the house that’s worthy of trying is PLAY-DOH. And who knows what happens when Play-Doh is heated =DDo I want to start the well-wanted ADVENTURE?!
for all I know, I could die

Ahh that adventure thing is fun, I used to have books like that. I tried the link you gave but I kept choosing the wrong things and dying, lol. Whoops.
Wow the fish and turtle are adorable. I especially adore that little green guy, how sweet!

Those little critters are great for a first time! I wish I could do as well — I’m horrible with all things artistic! Making one of those books online is a great idea!

Cute little clay turtle!
And about your comment to the Neopets lookups–I found a link on somebody else’s lookup to this page:
http://www.neopets.com/~soggeh
I’m using one of the templates on there (I’m using template 3), and you can change the colors and stuff on them.
Also, you said you were going to help me find some cute star smilies to use for my site–We can do that when I come over to the apartment, if you’re not playing my Wii, that is. -
@ Aimee- my favorite death is the marshmallow one.

@ Katee - we might just have to make you your own smilies. I had to make my cloud ones. It wasn’t too hard either! I think they turned out fine for my purposes.I’ll check out the Neopets link, thanks!

Awww, those little creatures are so cute. I especially love the turtle one. You did a great job on both.
I used to love reading Choose Your Own Adventure books! I would read the book until I had read every single possibility, hehe.

Hey Ashley!
You totally need a ‘contact me’ page on your site, because this comment isn’t exactly relevant to the post… I just wanted to drop by and tell you your site is looking super awesome right now. The colours are *little* bit bright for my eyes, but I think they work well. They wouldn’t look as good if they were pastel colours.
Also, your search page doesn’t work. I tried searching for a “contact me” page, and got an error 404. Eep!
Love and hugs,
Rachael.
P.S> I love how your header goes from white to COLOUR when you hover over it. Good idea. -
aww, those are SO adorable I like the green turtle most!!!
And that At Camp thing looks interesting, I’ll go try it out now
-
Wow, loving your little creations… especially the turtle! Cute!

Oh those critters are so cute! You did a great job with them. They look a little bit like candy with the bright colours.
Those Choose Your Own Adventure books were awesome! I was a little disappointed with them as a child though, coz most of them were aimed at boys. I loved them anyway. I sometimes chose the most outrageous choices just to amuse myself, hehe.
Colin’s story was really cute. He must’ve been a clever seven year old to write that. Unfortunately I got buried under snow too, hehe.

Wow, we have storms like that here. I hate those. I love mini-golfing, it’s so much fun.
Those little scupltures you made are so cute. -
Thanks for the comments everyone.

@Amy: Yes, Colin was quite a clever child (and is still very clever!).@Rachael: My search box is working now. For me anyway. I don’t know what was wrong with it.
I did have a contact page, but…I don’t know where it went! Maybe not copied into my new theme folder. I’ll check into that.
Thanks for your comments about my new layout.
