Me - Ashley

Welcome to Rainbow Stuff, cyberhome of... well... me! I'm Ashley - a 26 year old elementary school first grade teacher from Kentucky. I met my husband online and I love him, strawberry smoothies and my one-eyed cat, Pouncy. This is my blog, personal website, and general collection of my bits of randomness. Rainbows rule. More?

My School Sucks

Wednesday, April 26th, 2006

so the verdict is in. i, squigglybee, have failed my teaching internship.

this sucks, naturally. i am going to appeal. i have been advised to do that by lots of people, including people from the board of education. so, i get to fill out papers and my portfolios (all three of them) are going to get to go on a vacation to frankfort. i could totally lose my appeal case. my KTIP committee will be notified that i appealed, and they will have 15 days to write a letter in response. so… i’m sure they’ll make it sound like i suck real bad. anyway, i plan on getting lots of student data together and letters from parents, etc.

if i lose my appeal case, then i do an internship again next year in some county that IS NIT STUPID FAYETTE COUNTY! ugh. *rolls eyes* anyway, my mom made a good point. she said if i didn’t appeal, it would look like i was accepting of the fact i failed and think i deserved to. my dad told me that if i was told i failed i should tell everyone that i wasn’t the only one that failed; and that they failed me as well. which is true.

anyway, i’ve been frustrated/upset/angry/stressed. life does go on though. tandria couldn’t believe i failed. she’s got her own mess. apparently sergio and william told a teacher that tandria told them to “shut up,” and that teacher told mrs. mac and mrs. mac told mrs. principal idiot. well, apparently mrs. mac and mrs. principal idiot have been having meetings about all of this…and have told tandria nothing!! tandria found out about the whole thing from ms. walker. it’s ridiculous! tandria is so sweet! she wouldn’t want someone to tell her kid to shut up, so she’d never tell another kid to shut up! grrr!

the playground is still restricted. we have to stay on the blacktop. i’ve seen men walking around the playground several times. still looking for those snakes i guess. especially that one that apparently crawled up out of the creek and jumped up the swing set and pushed imari’s coat sleeve up and bit her arm without scaring her or freaking her out. *rolls eyes* and of course, i have not been informed of ANYTHING regarding that situation since the day it occurred.

i failed. my eyes and nose itch. i’m tired. colin is off doing his thing with a bunch of 6th graders. he gets to eat chick-fil-a. *is jealous* i’m gonna have to go buy myself some chick-fil-a.

mopez people arrive tomorrow. hope i’m not a zombie by then! ^_________^

Make it be over!

i’m supposed to be doing lesson plans. colin is in the shower. don’t tell him i’m not working!! (i will work! i’m just not very movitcated right now!)

so anyway, i got a great tiara and earrings to go with my wedding dress. i had a pretty good spring break (no major illnesses or anything).

hmm… colin is out of the shower. maybe i should look like i’m doing my work. shhhh…^____~
