may 5th i had grad practice at mcc. it was also a baby/wedding shower for the 14 people having babies/getting married. then, we found out missy is also having a baby. make it 15 people. ^____^;; colin hung out at the library and read while i was doing my thing.
i graduated may 7th. it was a pretty okay graduation minus the boring speech from some murray lady none od us even know. other than that, it was good. me and mandy’s obsession with the virginia reel was mentioned during dr. edington’s speech. ^___^;; mandy read a poem she wrote instead of giving an actual speech. larry’s was sort of emotional towards the end. and rhonda’s speech… was kind of boring i guess since i don’t really remember it. ^__^;
jessica got married the day before graduation, lucky her! dr. winstead came to graduation (i invited him). tina, bless her heart, she made me a “dead fish.” it’s a long story i posted about before on my blog, but at land between the lakes, we had to do a mock debate thing about building a dam and we were assigned roles. tina and i were against the dam. she told me she was “pumped up” and ready to go next, so we went. she ripped the poster i had made in half and screamed “save the dead fish!” tina, a preacher’s wife, appears shy and quiet. she can be quite crazy. anyway, she took a hashbrown patty and glued a googly eye on it, and a little sign that said “Too Late!” it’s so adorable and it’s living in my freezer right now. picture to be added soon! ^____^
what else? oh, after graduation me, colin, and katee went to wal-mart. when we got home, there was a party for me! i expected my mom’s family to be there, but i thought we were having chili. i didn’t know some of my dad’s family would be there. i didn’t expect cake and decorations. and i certainly didn’t expect one of my old friends, kayla, to be there. especially since she had emailed me and told me she couldn’t make it to my graduation. ^___^; so it was a nice surprise. i got lots of teachery goodness, and some other neat stuff too. ^___^
on mother’s day we went to katee’s school for the band concert. it was pretty good. now, the drums were way too loud, but the 6th grade band is doing way better than they were at christmas. they’re playing more complicated pieces now. katee was all proud of herself. when they finished the last song, she was smiling. we heard squeaking during the performance, and we thought it might be katee because her reed wasn’t in exactly perfect condition, but it turned out to be her friend emily. after the concert, we went to grandpa’s for mother’s day supper. weird huh? having mother’s day at grandpa’s. ^___^; only in my family…
i was supposed to go to murray grad practice yesterday, but decided not to. to drive to murray for a 30 minute practice would be silly. i guess i’ll just follow whoever i’m behind on saturday and hope they know what they’re doing. jamie is the only person i know going to the grad at murray.
tomorrow i have to go to murray to pick up my portfolio and there is also a short seminar. colin’s coming with me. maybe he can go to the murray library. ^___^;; i guess that day will be the last day i see my friends for a very long time… after it’s over, me and colin are driving straight to katee’s school for the multicultural fair. every 6th grader has to have a table on a country. katee’s doing japan. colin says he wants to find the kid doing canada. maybe he can give the kid a pop quiz. ^___^;;
jessica emailed me yesterday. she had her first job interview! they called her that morning and asked her to come in later in the day. she left her suit in princeton, so she had to go out and buy some clothes for her interview.
another random piece of news- amber is getting married for the second time on may 21st. ^___^;;
i’ve been making a lot of bracelets and flip flops lately. fun fun! i like making stuff! ^___^
