Just a few things

few quick “updates:”

amber’s wedding wasn’t a wedding at all. ^___^; she actually got married on friday the 13th. after her wedding (where only his and her parents attended) they went to mexico. they got back the night before the “wedding” we thought we were going to. we got to their apartment, and everyone was in t-shirts and jeans mostly. my uncle was grilling food out back. it rolls around closer to 5:00 and my mom’s like, “amber, aren’t you getting married at 5:00?” and that’s when we found out. me, mom, and katee were the only ones dressed up. it was weird. we told her congratulations and left. we had things to do. (aka, i had to birthday shop for a certain someone.)

what else has been going on? last night my cousin jeremy graduated high school, which is totally weird. he’s a big kid now i guess. he has been for a few years i suppose, but it’s just sorta hard to believe. they really so grow up so fast! only yesterday he was bugging me and cassi to let him play barbies with us. ^______^

umm… *thinks* i guess there’s not much else i need to “update” about right now. i’m leaving for lexington as soon as my mom gets back from madisonville. she went with grandpa to bowling green early this morning. he had court. i don’t think i mentioned why on here, so to make a long story short, he let some lady borrow money, and she never paid him back. so yeah. ^____^;

the lady at northern elementary was supposed to do more interviews yesterday. if she doesn’t do anymore, then i guess i should hear in a week or so about the job there. i’m going ahead and sending resumes and letters to schools that have jobs posted. maybe i’ll get to be a teacher soon. ^____^

that’s all folks! ^_____^

Lots of random updating stuff

Friday, May 20th, 2005

irst, i feel kinda bad that i’m here at my house on the internet when my poor colin can’t get on the internet, is in lexington all by himself, and can’t get my clue game to work on his computer. i just got back today. tomorrow is amber’s second wedding. maybe this one will last longer? :P oh well.

sooo, i guess i’ll pick up from where i left off last time i posted here. i went to murray and got my portfolio. it passed, of course. i got lot’s of 3’s and 2’s, which are good. ^____^ i gave jamie, kelley, jessica, and tina their bracelets and boxes i made for them. they loved them. i got a graduation bracelet from jamie, and i got a teacher’s guardian angel pin, president flash cards, and a little tiny framed picture of two puppies (with a bible verse on it about friends) from jessica. kelley apparently had something for me but it got left in nortonville. ^___^; it was weird saying bye to them. it doesn’t feel like it’s over. i feel like i should still be taking classes in the fall or something and seeing everyone again. but don’t get me wrong, i am glad it’s finally over. ^______^

colin and i left murray (poor him, he had to sit in the curris center for like 3 hours and wait for me!) and headed straight for katee’s school. we got there and were walking towards the field where the multicultural fair was at, and we heard and announcement about cleaning things up. yeah, we got there at 12:45. it was supposed to last until 2:00, but we managed to get there right as their cleaning everything up, so it was silly. we didn’t get to see anything. :P
when we got home, there was a message from mrs. lee. mrs. lee was my educational psychology and educational technology teacher. she has a kid that was in 5th grade at hanson, and she’s on the site based council there. her message was about a “very desirable position” in hopkins county, and she told me to call her back ASAP if i was interested. okay, so this was very upsetting for me. i didn’t fill out any applications in hopkins county, and i was sorta hoping that no one would start calling me. well, mrs. lee called. after that, my cheerfulness sorta took a nose dive i am sorry to say. i called her back (finally) but she wasn’t there. i left a message, and she never called me back. i finally emailed her too. (when i got home today, i had an email from her dated yesterday. apparently, the job is at hanson in 3rd grade probably. she says if i’m interested to talk to mrs. ashby immediately.)

the whole phone call upset me because it made me think about things i didn’t really want to think about. it also bothered me because if people start calling me and offering me jobs around here, my parents are going to be very upset if i don’t take any of them. they’re right about some things. i mean, it would be very easy for me to get a job here. i know lots of people and people who know people. it’s probably a lot easier to be a first year teacher in an environment you are familiar with. but… there’s one very big thing wrong with getting a teaching job here, and everyone knows what that one thing is. it’s actually kind of stupid because i know how my parents feel, i know how colin feels, and i know i have to make the decision myself. but, by making a decision, i don’t feel like i’m making it myself. i feel like i’m just going along with one side or the other. it’s silly. i’m dramatic sometimes. ^___^;

anyway, i was feeling pretty “woe is me” and stuff, so on saturday, my graduation at murray, i was sorta in a blah kind of mood. therefore, colin was in a mood. my parents, i’m pretty sure, thought me and colin were mad at each other. it probably appeared that way. i need to clear that whole issue up with them when they’re both home later. anyway, the graduation was nice enough and everything. out of 42 people i went to school with, 4, including me, went to the murray graduation. stacie, tonya, and mandy. jamie was supposed to be there. she never showed up. it was storming pretty bad that morning, so i was worried. apparently, some kind of family issue came up. she wouldn’t tell me what. i was glad she was okay though. the graduation didn’t last as long as i thought it would. i wasn’t able to sneak out after my name though, but it was okay. the really annoying things were that i couldn’t see the stage as well as i would have liked to, i was sitting in front of some really obnoxious people who were being very rude, lots of people around me were talking on cell phones, and those stupid hats, caps, whatever they make you wear that totally messes up my hair since i have bangs. :P
after graduation, my family and colin plus granny, grandpa, and bubba and leigh went out to eat at sirloin stockade. i’d never been there before. it was okay. i’d rather have gone to ryan’s but i’m sure we would have had to wait longer there for a table for all of us. plus, colin would have starved to death maybe. ^___^; after we ate, my parents wanted to drive around and look at car lots for an explorer. colin is not accustomed to riding around in a car for a few hours at a time. so, he was bored probably. i drive to lexington quite often, plus, i like to shop for hours, so this type of thing doesn’t bother me. oh well! that night i sorta explained to colin why i was in my awful mood. i was also praying that once we left to lexington, people wouldn’t call and leave messages for my parents to he4ar about hopkins county jobs! ^___^;

the next day, sunday, was braedon’s birthday party at the park in evansville. it was a pretty neat park actually. i had never been there. it was windy and cool outside. finally the sun came out, and it was a lot better. we ate pizza and cake. colin and i played catch, which was cute. ^____^ and then leigh’s nephew jacob joined us. after the party, me and colin went to toys r us and the bookstore then came home where we got to eat yummy rice. ^_______^ me love rice! ooh, and survivor was on. i hate tom. :P
monday we left for lexington. ^_____^;; we got to the village at…well i don’t remember what time. 6 something maybe. colin opened the door, and we both wondered where the carpet was that’s usually supposed to be in the hallway. then, i noticed his computer chair wasn’t where we left it. as we walked in, we saw a big mess. the couch was all moved around and everything that had been in the pantry/closet was out in the floor. it also smelled reeeeaaally bad in there dudes. there was a little note from the maintenance people dated may 10th that said colin’s air conditioning had leaked and for him to ask J.W. about it. colin went to talk to J.W. that idiotic man knows absolutely NOTHING people. i can’t believe he gets away with being an idiot! but i think most of the people there are idiots. :P anyway, J.W. didn’t really know what happened but he said that tony, the maintenance guy, was supposed to be there the next morning or something.

we decided we’d go ahead and try to stay at the village even with the smell. we tried to start cleaning up a little bit. we plugged the computer back in, and i turned it on, and i tried to get on the internet, but it wouldn’t work. colin said usually it takes awhile for it to work when it’s been unplugged. then, it started making a weird noise so colin turned it off. he tried turning it back on, and nothing happened. well, his computer being broken (again) just made him more upset. ^___^; so we decided to leave the village. we didn’t know if it was very safe to stay there anyway. we went to the holiday inn express that’s a few minutes from the village. lindsay and jason will apparently be staying there when they come to visit. they will be happy to know it’s a pretty nice hotel. ^____^

the next day, we woke up and went straight to the village. tony was there. he said that new carpet was going to be put down that day. as he was telling us this, a man came on tony’s walkie-talkie and said they were going to wait and do the carpet the next day. the carpet men didn’t think it was very important to put the new carpet down. i was very annoyed because the leak happened a week ago that day. the original plan was to shampoo the carpet and leave it alone. but they didn’t decide until the day we got into lexington to change the carpet. so…for almost a week nothing was done. idiots. :P well, i told colin he needed to yell at someone. tony said the same thing too basically. he said that if colin made an issue out of it, maybe someone would do something because whatever tony was doing wasn’t working. colin called paula, the lady at the housing place, but she said there was nothing she could do and that it was basically colin’s fault nothing was done for a week because they were waiting for him to get back before they did anything. BS is what i say to that. :P paula said colin could stay in a different apartment for the night if he wanted. how stupid is that? why would he want to sit in a dirty apartment with no tv and no computer and none of his stuff (aka FOOD)? sooooo…we stayed at the comfort suites. the carpet was ripped up at the village so the floor could dry.

the next day (wednesday) we woke up, went to the village, and the carpet was down. the furniture guys were there. they actually hauled that ugly green bed away. there’s more room in the bedroom now. it’s weird. ^____^ the new carpet is nice and clean and fresh. it’s a different color, but so what! it’s new!

we were starting to clean things up a little when i got a phone call from northern elementary school. they asked if i was still interested in their school and i said yes! so i went on an interview later that day. my first interview!! it was at the same school jessica had her interview at. i actually called her yo ask her where it was and stuff. i was a couple minutes late to my interview i think. ^___^; i think we went a slightly longer way then we should have, plus it was rush hour. my interview lasted about 15 minutes or so i guess. it seemed to go really well. ^_____^ they liked what i said. when they asked about classroom management, i mentioned the CHAMPs program, and it turns out- they are a CHAMPs school! how weird is that? ^___^;; they wanted to keep my portfolio to look at, which i took as a good sign. they didn’t ask to keep jessica’s portfolio. the principal (well, she’s going to be the new principal) said there’s a new school opening so several positions in several grades would be available at northern. so…maybe i’ll get a job there or somewhere! i’m excited. ^___^ after my interview, colin and i went to steak-n-shake to eat. yummy! ^____^

i told my mom on the phone i had an interview. she was happy for me and that it went well, but she said she wondered if i knew what i was doing. i said that of course i know what i’m doing! i’m smart! and she said that she used to think so. ^____^; she was joking about it. she was glad that my interview went as good as it did.

let’s see, yesterday i picked up my portfolio and colin and i went grocery shopping at a different wal-mart. it was pretty stormy yesterday. thunder and lots of lightning and some rain too. colin and i watched various stuff on tv. he tried taping CSI, but it didn’t tape it all. it actually stopped taping in probably the worst possible place it could have. they were trying to dig that guy up i guess and see if he was alive or dead and then the tapr stopped. how silly! i made a bracelet while watching tv, and colin tried hooking up the computer. we picked it up earlier. the computer worked, but the internet wouldn’t work.

i left today. i’m home now. colin’s internet got fixed while i was working on typing all of this. ^____^; when i got home, i noticed a ford explorer in the driveway with an indiana temporary tag in the window. it’d be too weird for my dad to be working on it since that’s what him and my mom were looking for. i asked katee about it and she just giggled and said she didn’t know anything about it. my dad got home and i told him what katee said and she sorta did the same giggly thing. i assume they bought it. i should be getting their blazer. ^_________^ yayness! it’ll look neat with my cheshire cat floor mats and license plate. ^____^

i have to unload all my stuff from my car. i’m tired. like i said, tomorrow is amber’s wedding. i have to go shopping to buy colin’s birthday presents. i hope i can find everything i’m looking for. colin’s presents from canada arrived. there was a graduation present for me! a build-a-bear! so thanks to “all those canucks” for my beary cute bear! ^____^

colin’s not too happy right now about the new edmonton eskimo uniforms. he likes the yellow pants, and i guess they’re gone now. ^___^;;

mom’s with grandpa at the hospital. he’s having some kind of same day surgery thing. something is wrong with his colon. it might have to be removed or something. i don’t know much about it right now.

apparently the helmets are a new shade of gold? ^____^ men and their canada football. ^_______~
