Me - Ashley

Welcome to Rainbow Stuff, cyberhome of... well... me! I'm Ashley - a 26 year old elementary school first grade teacher from Kentucky. I met my husband online and I love him, strawberry smoothies and my one-eyed cat, Pouncy. This is my blog, personal website, and general collection of my bits of randomness. Rainbows rule. More?

New layout?

Date Monday, February 1, 2010 at Clock 1:18 pm ()

I finally changed the layout. It’s nothing fancy or dramatic. It’s simple. I tested it a bit, but really I kind of just threw it up here. As you can tell, I have no links to any of my pages yet. I’ll add them…sometime. I am not going to say “soon” because who knows if it will really be soon or not. The link to my Quilting Bee quilt is at the bottom of the page for those wondering. I hope this can be the first small step in resurrecting this site. *crosses fingers*

Thanks to Tracy for letting me the comments were messed up. I think they work now, but I will have to change the styling later.

And Bah Humbug – my Twitter clouds at the top are messed up on my laptop but not on the other two computers in my house. :P

Edit – I HAD a new layout, but since upgrading to the newest version of WP I am having issues with plugins and all sorts of madness I need to sort out. So, if you got to see it for the hour or two it was up, lucky you! I’ll have to fix it all now….sometime….

How embarassing…

Date Sunday, December 6, 2009 at Clock 1:02 pm ()

My last post was June 29th? Seriously?

I have no excuse other than school started back thus I have been obsessing over lesson plans and such. School is better this year now that I don’t have to do my internship. :) I have a great group of kids this year (overall). I also have a smaller class – 18 this year – which is totally awesome. I sometimes miss all the time I used to spend on Twitter, my website, and the internet in general but I really do enjoy teaching and spend a lot of time planning lessons and such.

Right now we’re in the middle of the Gingerbread Girl craze. She ran away on Friday. The kids were even more excited about it this year than last year’s group was. It’s really fun. We’ll be making gingerbread ornaments, and cookies, and cakes this week. Fun times! My mom made another gingerbread house around my classroom door and it is even cuter than the one last year! Way more color this time around. I’ll have to take a picture of it this week.

Christmas is right around the corner. I have a lot of shopping left to do. I also have many crafty things I am working on. I am working on adding items to my Etsy shop which has been ignored for a couple of years now. I am going to be adding some major cuteness to it, and I can’t wait!

For now I leave you with this yummy treat I baked up at Thanksgiving. More on my Flickr.

Rainbow Cookies

And the layout… it was coming along well, but then I got busy. And now I think I may have a new idea. :P
